They have good but not completely comfortable English, so when I e-mail them, I try my best to type them in Chinese.
Just after I sent them an e-mail this morning, I just realized that... I can fully write and translate this entire three-paragraph e-mail in three completely different languages.

Wir haben im mittel Oktober bei der Universität angefangen, deshalb war ich in den letzten Monat beschäftiger als am Anfang des Semesters. Ich belege gerade fünf Kurse (ich weiß nicht, ob dieser Charakter richtig ist). Alle fünf Kurse sind auf Deutsch unterrichtet, deshalb war es am Anfang ein bisschen schwierig...)

We started school in mid-October at the university, so I've been busier in this last month than the one before at the beginning. I'm currently taking five courses (I don't know if that's the right character). All five are taught in German, so it was a little hard at first...)

Same goes for me, but I don't know any language that is character based. (except the small amount of japanese..)
So you surely must feel more awesome than I do (well....c'mon, what can you do with polish anyway?). Yeah...polish is only good for srewing up ones brain. I still don't get it, how I could grow up without going mentally ill (must have been the german influence).
Anyway...we can deepen this topic on Thursday. See ya then.

Haha, Kathryn. Recently, I learned the phrase for "Give me a kiss!" in Czech, and it struck me because of how very similar it sounds to the Polish equivalent. And I thought of you immediately ;D .
